On-Site Professional Caregiver Dementia Training

On-Site Professional Caregiver Dementia Training

While online and computer-based trainings are an easy way to ensure all healthcare employees complete their required trainings, they don’t allow employees to practice the important communication skills needed in caring for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.  On-site, interactive dementia education for caregivers is the best way to learn the communication skills that are essential in providing exceptional dementia care.

Open Door Training & Development has more than twenty years of experience training healthcare employees on dementia-related issues.  Lori Dierolf is a Certified Dementia Practitioner and a Certified Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care Trainer through the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners.  Her sessions are energetic and engaging and focus on the practical information that professional caregivers need to know to give exceptional care.  Role-playing and other interactive training techniques are employed to ensure that caregivers practice new skills in an instructional, supportive environment.

Dementia education topics for Professional Caregivers include:

  • “Understanding the Brain Changes of Dementia”

  • “Use of Humor with Individuals with Dementia”
